Whether your kids are in camp or at home for the Summer, you'll need ways to keep it fun without breaking the bank and I've got a great list for you of low cost and free things to do this Summer, so let's get started!



Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens in Devon is open every day from 9am-8pm and is comprised of 48 acres of gardens and woodland, with 1.2 miles of trails. Enjoy Guided Tours on "Walk about Wednesdays" or visit during their upcoming National Pollinator Week (6/19-6/25) for additional activities. Whether you attend during one of these events or another day of your choosing, admission and parking are always FREE!



Movie deals are another great way to stay cool this summer for a low cost. There are several theaters running promos right now so let's dive in!


Kid's Dream Family Film Series at Marcus Theaters (Movie Taverns in Flourtown, Allentown, Collegeville and Exton) This series features already released kid's films for just $3 a ticket and $3 special size concessions. You can also download a voucher for two free tickets (but please note if all seats are filled from online purchasers you may not be granted access on the day you visit with the voucher) Running now through August 5th, weekly on Tuesdays-Saturdays.

Kid's Summer Movie Escape at Water Tower Cinema in Montgomeryville is running a 10 weeks series of already released Kid's films weekly on Wednesdays from 6/21-8/23 for just $1/ticket. They also have Wayback Wednesdays where movie tickets are $5 and Popcorn and Drinks are $6

AMC Theaters offers 30% off Movie Ticket prices before 4pm

Family Matinees at Hiway Theater in Jenkintown and at the County Theater in Doylestown where one Saturday a month (all year long) they are screening new and classic films that the whole family can enjoy tickets are only $5 each and admission is FREE FOR MEMBERS and their children.


Please Touch Museum on select First Wednesday nights of the month, from 4 to 7 p.m., admission is only $2 per person! Also FREE to do in Philadelphia is: The Liberty Bell, Fireman's Hall Museum, and Spruce Street Harbor Park to name a few.



Epler's One Room School House at the Berks County Herittage Center is open Saturdays and Sundays, the Friends of the Epler's One Room School House will be onsite to speak with visitors about the history, ongoing restoration, and future plans for the building. Access to the School House is free, with donations greatly appreciated.




Toddler Time on Sundays 9am-11am at Funzilla in Fairless Hills is $15 for the 1st toddler and 1 adult, add a sibling for another $15 or another adult for $10. 

Sensory Jump on Saturdays 9-10am, $12/Jumper plus 1 caregiver



Community Pool at Refreshing Mountain in Stevens, PA allows you to enjoy a blocked time of 1hr and 50 mins in their pool for just $4/pp with reservation. Children 2 and under are free. Plus, while you are there they have a Wildlife center (for ages 5+) with reptiles for just $10/pp




Superior Play Systems in Norristown offers open play for $10/per child during the week of $12/per child on the weekends. 



Check your local Apple store for FREE kid's workshops. We attended one earlier this year where kid's learned to make their own emoji's through the Pro Create app and the images were air dropped when the class ended. Super fun and interactive, great for kids who can you use a stylus and navigate an Ipad with your help. 



 The Churchville Nature Center  in Churchville has lots to offer for FREE, nature trails, a nature inspired playground and an indoor nature center with a few reptiles to see. 



Deerwood Alpacas in Quakertown offers free (by appointment) tours of their Alpaca Farm. We visited last year and met the Husband and Wife owners who were so welcoming and made our visit education and fun. We got up close with many alpacas and fed them. Plus there is an on-site store with handmade items usuing Alpaca wool.



The Lil' Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm in Ronks has a FREE petting zoo of horses, goats, dogs and Alpacas. You can purchase feed for small fee as well as cart rides. Browse the store and handmade goodies and snacks available to purchase. 


Linvilla Orchards in Media has a large playground separated by age, they request a cash donation which can be placed in the box just outside the playground. They also have lots of animals to see from Ducks and Peacocks to Turkeys and Deer. Bring quarters for the feed, but otherwise free to walk around. They also have a market, restrooms, pick your own, and other special events throughout the year.
