Goldfish Swim - Oaks

Did you know that swim lessons for children can boost their confidence and their cognitive development at an early age while learning a new life skill?

We are currently taking classes at the Goldfish Swim School in Oaks, PA and my daughter looks forward to going every week because she has already started new friendships and enjoys lessons that are catered to her individual skillset.

Goldfish Swim in Oaks offers lessons for infants up to 12 years old, they are held on weekdays and weekends at a variety of time slots depending on class type and capacity. If you are interested, but not sure where to start, check out their online swim assessment here. By answering just two questions, their age and swim experience, you will get a recommended class level.

Once you are signed up, all you will need is a bathing suit, brush and towel. That's it! They have showers, changing rooms, a blow dryer station, plus my daughter's favorite...snacks!

A typical class is about 30 minutes and has an instructor to student ration of 4:1 or 6:1 for babies. When the class starts, you will be asked to line up and walk your child to the designated lane for their lesson to meet their instructor. The pool is kept at a warm 90 degrees and you can observe from their comfy chairs in the waiting are that have floor to ceiling glass making it easy to encourage your child and wave hello!

I mentioned that my daughter loves snacks, at the counter there is a variety of bagged snacks for $1 a piece. You can also get a Snack Shack punch card (shown in this picture) for $5 if you'd rather buy ahead and punch it as you go. Very convenient if you don't always have cash on hand!

There is also a retail area which is handy if you forget anything. They have swim diapers, towels, hair brushes, goggles, and more.

Did you know? When you sign up for lessons you will receive a pretty cool welcome gift! A reusable Goldfish swim tote, a T-shirt and complimentary bag of Cheddar Gold Fish.

Back to the lessons! Lessons are just $110/month and include1 weekly class each month. Miss one? That's okay, you can make up a session for another time (up to 12 make up sessions/per year).
Thinking about signing up, but not sure if you want to commit yet? They offer a free trial lesson, learn more here. You can also check out the Family Swim available on Wednesdays and Thursdays 12-1pm for just $5/swimmer or $15/Family (up to 5 people). No pre-registration required!

While your children are learning, they are being observed by their instructors who will give you a summary of their development and skills they are working on at the end of each class.

As they move up in class they are awarded different ribbons, this one was for our very 1st swim lesson! What a fun way to commemorate the moment!

At the end of the lesson your child can rinse at the showers where the school has shampoo and soap on hand and change out of their suits in one of the dressing rooms.
Blow dryers are available and a great tip I had learned is if you have evening classes, bring those PJs so they are ready for bed when you go home!

Currently for the month of April, Goldfish Swim Oaks is offering private lessons on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings, call 610-783-3700 or visit their online portal to learn more.
